Hi Jean. As an attorney, I need things to just work. And I am really hoping that PDFPen (or some other app, but PDFPen has the most promise) can be that stripped-down (compared to Acrobat) all-in-one tool for my document needs. I can't wait until perfect OCR is ubiquitous so it can really be about features and interface (kind of like the state we're approaching with word processing apps).

Thanks, Jeff, for this thoughtful review and suggestions. We do have quite a number of lawyers among PDFpen users and it's helpful to know what you are looking for. I would note that PDFpen is not intended to be a full-fledged OCR tool. We added basic OCR capability because so many users wanted to be able to select text in scanned documents. More complex documents like brochures and presentations will probably still need OCR apps (like Readiris, OmniPage or DevonThinkPro Office) to be reliably converted.
