You should also take a look at The Hit List. I am currently evaluating the beta of THL and like what I see so far. I think all three programs are really good (OmniFocus, Things, The Hit List) - right now I am just searching for the best "fit" with my personal style.

I quite liked Things - i’ve been using the demo for 14 days. The real pity is that their technical support is non-existant. I’ve been trying to get a single query answered for 10 days now and they just don’t respond. At all. It means that in my GTD review for my company I’ve had to recommend against using Things, and I’d say the same to other users considering it. Perhaps their support department need a better GTD programme!

Gary,

Things does not currently sync with iCal, but it's listed as a future planned feature.

It's kind of a tough call for developers of similar applications. iCal supports much less complexity than many of the GTD apps. One-way syncing (from Things to iCal) could work well. But two-way syncing seems like it would be tough to pull off.

What did you have in mind? Do you use iCal or is there some other application or device for which you want to use iCal as a conduit?

Thanks for the comment. I hadn't considered the "after completion" option. After thinking about it, you're right that the "after completion" option would work pretty well for daily tasks. I would still like to see some additional functionality for weekly or monthly tasks for which the "after completion" option wouldn't work so well. It's not that high on my priority list, though.

On your problem with repeating tasks, you can get at the feature you're looking for by picking "after completion" from the "Copies are created" dropdown. That'll only create a new copy after the first has been completed.
